Spatial Measurements

If a map scale is $1 : k$, then 1 cm on the map = $k$ cm in reality. Areas scale by $k^2$, volumes by $k^3$.

• Re-draw irregular shapes as combinations of rectangles, triangles, semicircles.
• Label every length you know.
• Compute piece by piece.
